Who we are.
Founded at the University of Florida, D4D is a graphic design research initiative in which students and faculty work “in the field” with artisans, farmers, and organizers from rural communities to foster small business development.
What we do.
D4D presents a methodology that brings design thinking to all phases of the processes by which people make, market, and sell commodities, thereby helping them communicate their own ideas and cultures while gaining a measure of economic empowerment. We transform commonly taught graphic design concepts and practices, making them relevant and applicable to our partners, often in rural locations.
